Eight people were injured in a blast of a homemade explosive device in Serpukhov in the outskirts of the Russian capital, Moscow.

A young man who detonated the explosive device was wounded, arrested and taken to hospital, and seven others were injured in the bombing incident, a source from the Russian Emergency Service said.

The young man detonated an explosive device near the entrance to a sports hall in a convent in Serpukhov due to his tense relationship with the teachers.

Moreover, last September, an unknown person carried an armed attack at the Russian Perm University in the Urals, killing eight people and wounding six others.
