The lab aims to educate male and female students about the basics of clinical dentistry before they practice clinical practice on real patients.
This will also facilitate their smooth transition from theoretical learning to clinical application by practising and improving their own techniques within the safety and security standards of the lab where dental students will have the opportunity to practise their dental skills using simulations and equipment they will use in real life when they treat patients.
The lab provides a highly technologically advanced digital environment so that they can be trained in digital dentistry, the future of dental health care.
Dr Mandeep Duggal said: "Three years ago, dental education was a dream, and today it has become a reality in Qatar.
The College of Dentistry will provide the country's future-ready dental practitioners to meet the oral health needs of the population”. It is noteworthy that the College of Dentistry is the first national college of dentistry in Qatar, The curriculum is based on a six year horizontal and vertically integrated programme including field training.
