Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met yesterday with HE Minister of Commerce and Industry and Acting Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari, on the sidelines of the meeting of the second session of the Qatari-Ukrainian Joint Committee for Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation, which concluded in the capital, Kiev.
During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries in the commercial, investment and industrial fields and ways of enhancing and developing them. During the visit, HE al-Kuwari met separately with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine Oleg Uruskyi, and Minister of Finance of Ukraine Sergii Marchenko.
During the two meetings, they reviewed aspects of joint co-operation between Qatar and Ukraine in the commercial, investment and industrial fields and ways to enhance and develop them.
HE al-Kuwari stressed the importance of intensifying efforts during the next phase to encourage the private sector on both sides to establish sustainable trade and investment partnerships that contribute to raising relations between the two countries to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, in accordance with clear frameworks that serve the development of Qatar and Ukraine.
The commerce minister also stressed the importance of activating all agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed over the past years and opening new areas for developing economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries. In addition, he reiterated Qatar's welcome to Ukrainian businessmen and companies wishing to invest, and to take advantage of the important investment opportunities that have been provided in various fields.
