Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has announced the operation of Doha Metro services on August 6 (Friday) from 2pm to 11.59pm to support the movement of people during the temporary road closure along the Corniche between August 6 and 10.
Metro services will be suspended again on two Fridays (August 13 and 20) to allow for system upgrades to take place, a tweet explained yesterday.
The metrolink and metroexpress services will also continue to operate during the road closures, however, some routes have been temporarily diverted between August 6 and 10 in order to access the metro stations.
The M143 will operate to Hamad Hospital Station (Green Line) and will not serve Corniche station, a tweet said. Customers requiring the Red Line should change at Al Bidda station.
The 37 stations across the Metro network serve key destinations around the city and the Corniche area such as the National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif, Corniche, Al Bidda, West Bay, and DECC station.
More information on Metro services and travel during this period is available via the official social media accounts, qr.com.qa, the Doha Metro mobile app, or by calling the Customer Service Center on 105.
