The ongoing Eid al-Adha holidays provide an opportunity for many residents to explore Qatar’s popular destinations and experience a wide range of hospitality offerings despite the hot weather. The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) is again set to welcome visitors Wednesday – with all the Covid-19 precautionary measures in place – after taking a break on the first day of Eid.

Qatar's hospitality sector offers one-of-its-kind spa experiences

NMoQ currently hosts a unique and interactive exhibition titled ‘Seagrass Tales, Dugong Trails’, giving museum-goers a profound understanding of this shy marine mammal that has inhabited Qatar’s waters for more than 7,500 years. It will run until September 1. A number of exhibitions are also taking place at various locations such as ‘Beautiful Memories of Palestine’ at the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) Library; Mal Lawal 3 at NMoQ; and Grey Times at the Doha Fire Station.

Doha offers an array of authentic local and international cuisines

Visit Qatar, the official social media tourism account of the Qatar National Tourism Council, has been promoting the country’s tourism and heritage spots online. Souq Waqif showcases an array of authentic local and international cuisines – a unique treat for those who want to rediscover Qatar’s diverse gastronomic delights.
In its Instagram page, Visit Qatar noted that the country is “renowned for its thriving food scene and home to exclusive Michelin-Star dining experience,” giving guests a real taste when it comes to food and drink varieties. “Here, you can indulge in a culinary journey, inspired by local cuisine and flavoured by the chefs’ travels across the globe, paired with live entertainment and panoramic vistas of the city’s iconic skyline.”
“Qatar has a food culture that is constantly evolving, as international dishes are reimagined and adapted to the local palate. Broaden your culinary horizons and get a taste of how local flavours, techniques and ingredients merge into bold new tastes and forms.”
In addition to Qatar’s one-of-its-kind spa selections, Visit Qatar added that the country also hosts what it described as “fabulous family-friendly beaches” where guests can “enjoy the sea and beach life across the entire coastline and with the many beachfront hotels” – a testament to its renowned hospitality.
Residents can also take advantage of the various F&B promotions by a number of five-star hotels in Doha, including buffet breakfast and lunch. “Spending Eid holidays here gives me the chance to rediscover the country even in the face of a challenging situation such as the Covid-19 pandemic,” said long-time Filipino expatriate Eduardo A, who is set to take a five-day staycation in one of the beach hotels in Doha.
He added that he will be taking a 30-day vacation next month and spend more time visiting all the museums, the Qatar National Library, Katara – the Cultural Village, Souq Waqif and Souq Al Wakra, Msheireb Downtown Doha, a number of malls, and The Pearl Qatar. “I want to remember every detail of my visits at these places in Qatar before I retire back home.”
