*New travel and return policy measures come into force from July 12
*Entry eased for travelers with complete vaccination approved by MoPH
*Passengers coming into Qatar to conduct PCR test, pre-register on Ehteraz
*MoI announces resumption of tourist and family entry visas
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced Thursday the decision to implement new procedures to ensure the continued facilitation of the entry process into Qatar through its air, land and sea ports for travellers who have completed vaccination against the Coronavirus (Covid-19) with vaccines approved by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar, effective July 12.
A new package of precautionary measures and measures will be applied to citizens, residents and visitors, which were developed with the aim of making the travel easy and safe while preserving public health in the country and measures previously taken to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
Passengers coming into Qatar from all ports will also have to pre-register on the "Ehteraz" website (WWW.EHTERAZ.GOV.QA) and attach all the required documents before arriving in the country for a period of no less than 12 hours.
Citizens, residents and visitors who have completed vaccination with vaccines approved by the Ministry of Public Health in Qatar when travelling to the country, will need to conduct a PCR test at a health centre approved by the Ministry of Health in the country from which they are coming. The certificate shall be valid for 72 hours upon their arrival in Qatar. This procedure applies to all citizens and residents who are not vaccinated.
The new procedures also included classification lists for countries of arrival (green, yellow, red) and a quarantine policy for each classification applied to travellers coming to Qatar.
Given that Qatar is one of the top ten countries in the world in terms of the percentage of the population who have completed their vaccination, and because of the success of the national vaccination campaign in the country, this step can be achieved smoothly.
All travellers have been advised to familiarise themselves with the procedures that have been introduced upon entering the country, knowing that these procedures can be changed without prior notice.
The Ministry of Public Health has also urged citizens and residents travelling abroad during the summer to continue to be cautious while travelling and to continue applying precautionary measures, which include wearing a mask, avoiding crowded places, and constantly sterilising hands.
Details about the new procedures and the procedures that are being introduced can be gleaned from visiting the ministry's website (www.moph.gov.qa).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior announced the resumption of issuing tourist and family entry visas, effective July 12. In a statement yesterday, it said that within the framework of the new policies for travel and return to Qatar and based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health regarding the developments of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) at the local and global levels, it was decided as of July 12 to resume issuing tourist and family entry visas.
The ministry added that travellers coming into Qatar through its land, sea and air ports will be subject to the requirements and procedures set by the Ministry of Public Health, whether with regard to those who have been vaccinated with vaccines approved in Qatar or those who will be subject to quarantine procedures approved in the country to limit the spread of the Coronavirus in the country.
The concerned authorities at the Ministry of Interior appealed to the public to adhere to the requirements and procedures that were developed for this purpose before commencing the application procedures. (QNA)
