Anti-Smoking Society Qatar (ASSQ) recently announced the winners of its interschool painting competition held in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
More than 200 students represented 15 Indian schools in the competition.
The competition was held in three categories.
The theme for the competition was ‘United for a Drug Free Society’. The paintings were evaluated by an expert panel of judges including; Sanjay Chapolkar (India), Shahnas C K( UAE), Salim Abdulla, Farhan Hameed and Jojin Mathew ( Qatar).
The winners in the sub juniors category are: Hecterge Nemshith Nimpura Peiris from Shantiniketan Indian School (SIS), first, Mohamed Zayd from SIS, second; and Aindil Maria Sony from DPS-Modern Indian School, third.
A special prize was given to Kashinadh Sreejith Remya from Birla Public School.
In the junior category, Svetlana Mary Shibu from SIS stood first, Aashika Menon from Ideal Indian School, second, and Hecterge Daksith Damsura Peiris from SIS, third.
A special prize was handed over to Katherin Jhonson from Bhavans Public School.
In the seniors category, Karthika Mahesh from MES Indian School was first, Sinan Basim from SIS, second, and Krishna Ashok from MES Indian School, third.
Special prizes were awarded to Nandana Bijukumar from Birla Public School and Narmin Abdullah from SIS.
