The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by Municipal Affairs, is supervising the work of food establishments associated with the Arab Cup 2021 qualifiers in Qatar. A unified work team is involved in this and includes food inspectors from the health control sections of Doha and Al Rayyan municipalities, the MME has said in a statement. A comprehensive work plan has been prepared in co-ordination with the event's organisers to supervise work food-related work at the stadiums hosting the qualifiers, hotels where the participating teams are staying and food outlets that are supplying meals to VIPs, mediapersons and the volunteers. Accordingly, the team has facilitated the work of food inspectors in charge to ensure the safety of meals supplied. The supervision covers key aspects such as keeping foodstuffs at appropriate temperatures during the process of being transferred to stadiums, transporting meals safely, checking the frying oil and collecting samples for laboratory checks to ensure food items are safe for human consumption, among others.
