The Nest International Academy and Research Center, Qatar chapter (NIARC), has teamed up with Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) for a blood donation camp 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of Indian Independence Day.
NIARC, affiliated to ICBF under the aegis of the embassy of India, is a non-profitable voluntary organisation that works for rehabilitation of children with disabilities in society.
Its institution is presently functioning in Kozhikode district in Kerala.
All organisations associated with ICBF will be taking part in the drive.
The organisers have requested all individuals in Qatar to participate in the blood donation camp and became the part of ‘Give Blood, Give Life’ project.
The blood donation camp, observing Covid-19 protocols, will be held at Hamad Blood Donor Center on Friday from 8am to 1pm. Donors must be between 18 to 60 years of age and in good health.
The donor must not have any chronic, heart, lung or circulatory illnesses.
The volunteer should weight 50kg and above.
Donors must not be anemic, insulin dependent or hypertensive.
The donors must inform the unit about medications they are taking.
Pregnant, lactating or menstruating women may not donate.
Those intending to donate blood must present a Qatar ID copy or driving licence for documentation.
Those who have travelled outside Qatar in the past six months are not eligible to donate blood. Those who have recovered from Covid-19 within the last three months are also not eligible to donate.
