The orientation programme for Primary-I was recently organised at Birla Public School (BPS). It was held online due to the pandemic with participation of Grade-I and II students, parents, and teachers.
The commencement of the event was marked by Principal A P Sharma, starting with Ramadan wishes to all attendees.
He acknowledged the efforts of parents, students and teachers for the last academic year – 2020-2021 – which was concluded in the ongoing pandemic.
A new startup for the academic year 2021-2022 begins with an encouraging, positive and healthy approach. BPS is prepared with well-equipped classrooms, enthusiastic educators, happy minds and sustained hygiene, Sharma said.
Rajesh Pillai, vice principal (Co-Scholastic), appreciated the Primary-I team and wished them all success for the new academic year.
Shruti, headmistress Primary-I, spoke on the curriculum to be followed during the academic year and expressed her gratitude to all parents for their support.
Counsellor Michelle spoke on students’ enhancement in multiple areas such as routine, playtime, sleep time (10 hours) and resting time. She emphasised students need to take responsibility for activities like household chores which will keep them engrossed and even reduce their screen time.
Learning at home should be promoted in a creative way, she said.
Zoom etiquette was a important agenda in the orientation.
