On behalf of the ministerial committee concerned with GCC municipal affairs, HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie has honoured Msheireb Properties and the Urban Planning Department for winning the first place in the GCC Award in the field of municipal work in its third session in 2019-2020.
The felicitation was in accordance with the decision of the 23rd meeting of municipal affairs ministers stipulating that winners are honoured by the relevant minister in their respective country and that the honoring shall carry the name of the ministerial committee concerned with Municipal Affairs and that the General Secretariat shall issue the honoring certificate.
The Msheireb Downtown Doha project for people with special needs had won first place in GCC Award for Municipal Cooperation in its third session 2020. The State of Qatar pays great attention to integrated sustainable development as a fundamental pillar of Qatar Vision 2030, and the project is an applied embodiment of the concepts of sustainable cities and encouraging human-friendly living.
