A group of 14 Qataris took the oath at the Ministry of Justice on December 10 in their capacity as experts accredited to the judicial authorities in the country in accordance with the regulations stipulated by Law No (16) of 2017 regulating expertise work.
The experts received registration certificates to perform their duties, after they were registered in the experts’ roster at the Experts Department, in the Ministry of Justice, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported. The experts are from different disciplines including quantitative accounting, engineering, marine environmental impact assessment, civil engineering, and accounting and real estate valuation.
HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi expressed his satisfaction in the presence of Qatari experts in various specialisations, who will form a qualitative addition to their colleagues from the judiciary. He stressed the Ministry of Justice’s keenness to encourage Qatari experts to qualify in various fields, to drive the legal work to wider prospects, and contribute to achieving efficient justice.
Based on the directives of HE al-Nuaimi, the Ministry of Justice is working on preparing and helping national cadres and experts to qualify in an integrated method. The objective is to attract people with precise and rare expertise to enhance the efficiency of the judicial authorities and provide the necessary technical expertise in various fields and disciplines.
In order to achieve the goals, the ministry seeks to provide notable expertise to keep pace with the comprehensive renaissance that the country is going through in all fields and in a way that contributes to the consolidation of justice.
An advanced system for the experts’ roster has been introduced with the aim of documenting and registering various fields of expertise in all disciplines. It is also setting up rules to regulate the registering of experts in the rosters, and how to license experts.
Experts are being prepared and helped to qualify in order to practice their profession efficiently and impartially, through integrated training programmes before taking the oath.
These programmes aim to familiarise applicants with the practice of their expertise, the rules for practising the profession of experts, by reviewing the provisions related to the conditions and procedures for registering in the experts’ roster, stating the legal obligations related to the practice of the profession of experts (experts’ roster and department experts), and to familiarise them with the rules for filing complaints against the experts and the disciplinary accountability, as well as legal rules related to the implementation of expert work. The programmes aim to acquaint the applicants with the legal rules regulating the appointment of experts for criminal cases from the Public Prosecution, clarify the rules for discussing and contesting the expert’s report, as well as the provisions regulating the registration of experts and the regulations for practising expert work, and the rules for performing and implementing expert work before the law of pleadings and criminal procedures.
