The Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security and the Police Training Institute, is participating in the 2020 Qatar International Boat Show, which is being held at The Pearl-Qatar until tomorrow.
The directorate aims to spread awareness of maritime safety measures, requirements for seagoing and dealing with marine accidents, the MoI has said in a tweet. It is also introducing to the public the tasks and capabilities of the Coasts and Borders Security.
As part of its participation, the directorate is displaying long and short-range boats and cruisers that are used for the protection of coasts and national borders and to carry out other tasks. These include the 42-ft-long ‘Sayyaf’, which is made locally by the Qatari workforce, and the 36-ft-long Glistream, the MoI said.
The Police Music Band of the Police Training Institute performed during the opening ceremony of the show.
