Al Wakra Hospital (WH), a member of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), participated in the Sealine Challenge sports event launched on Saturday, the first race in the Qatar Drop Series organised by the Qatar Sports for All Federation. Mohamed Musallam al-Dossary, acting executive director of Public Relations at Al Wakra Hospital, confirmed that the participation of Al Wakra Hospital in the event is in line with the observance of Diabetes Day. Hence, this occasion constitutes an appropriate opportunity for spreading awareness of sports and physical activities in preserving health and promoting healthy lifestyle, especially for diabetics, he stressed. Al Wakra Hospital participated in the race through several stations, according to information available on HMC’s social media accounts. The first station was devoted to screening diabetes and the second for checking, while the last station focused on health education and proper nutrition methods, HMC said. Moreover, nutrition professionals from HMC presented some awareness advice and tips to the public on the importance of preserving an appropriate lifestyle, and following up in this regard, through the intake of healthy food and regularly performing sports activities to protect against diabetes and obesity.
