Qatar Calendar House (QCH) is to launch its application on smartphones at the beginning of the new Hijri year, as part of its new policy of developing its services for the public.
Eng. Faisal Mohamed al-Ansari, Executive Director of Sheikh Abdullah Al Ansari Complex, which includes QCH, said that the “Qatari Calendar” application will be available to the public on Android and Apple devices free of charge, starting Thursday, 1st Muharram 1442 AH.
Al-Ansari explained that the application will embody the spirit and message of Qatar Calendar House, as it provides basic information for the calendar such as the times of entry of the zodiac, horoscopes and the star of Suhail, sunrise and sunset times and the expected astronomical phenomena during the year.
The application also provides a service for determining the direction of the Qiblah and the prayer times in Doha as well as both Makkah and Madinah, in addition to information about hunting and agricultural seasons.
The application will also include the dates of the official holidays in the country and the academic calendar for schools and universities.
The application will also provide various astronomical calendar and Ramadan calendar (Imsakiah Ramadan) to be available to everyone at all time.
