*Private healthcare facilities allowed to provide services upto 40% of their capacity
The Cabinet on Wednesday decided that the working hours for government employees who are at their workplace are seven hours per day, from 7am to 2pm, with effect from June 14, official Qatar News Agency reported.
At the regular Cabinet meeting through video conferencing, it was also decided to resume from June 15 medical services in private healthcare facilities within 40% of their capacity.
Private healthcare facilities shall continue providing emergency services, in accordance with the conditions and controls set by the Ministry of Public Health, which will take the necessary measures in this regard.
The Cabinet affirmed that precautionary measures are continuously being taken to combat the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic within the framework of the plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed to contain the outbreak.
Amending the decisions regarding the working hours of government employees and about medical services provided at private healthcare facilities are part of relaxing the restrictions.
Earlier, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani chaired the Cabinet meeting, following which HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi gave the details of the proceedings.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet heard a presentation by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to reduce the spread of Covid-19.
Later, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda and approved a draft law amending some provisions of Decree Law No. 11 of 2012 regarding government regulation for the sale and purchase of chemical and petrochemical products produced in Qatar.
Also approved was a draft Cabinet decision to amend the organisation of some of the administrative units that make up the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and specify its terms of reference.
The Cabinet took the necessary measures to ratify two Memorandums of Understanding between Qatar and Austria. The first is for co-operation in the field of tourism between the Qatar National Tourism Council and the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism in Austria.
The second MoU is for economic, commercial and technical cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar and the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs in Austria.
The Cabinet approved a draft legal co-operation agreement between the Ministry of Justice in Qatar and the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine.
The Cabinet also reviewed the annual report of the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities on the progress of work and achievements for the Authority, and took the appropriate decision.
It may be recalled that the Cabinet meeting on June 3 had eased some of the restrictions imposed earlier to curb the spread of Covid-19.
These included allowing more people in a vehicle, revising the working hours for private sector employees at the workplace and relaxing the rules for engaging in sports.
