*Cabinet also briefed on Shura Council recommendations on steps taken to contain Covid-19

The Cabinet's regular meeting, charied by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani, was given a presentation by HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi on the distance learning programme which began in Qatar on Sunday March 22.
The minister's presentation focussed on the observation made by parents and students. HE al-Hammadi said that the education ministry followed up on the remarks took the necessary measures to resolve the problems, including updating the system's programme.

Following the Cabinet meeting, which was held at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi issued the following statement:
The cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
*The cabinet was briefed on the recommendations of the Shura Council on the measures taken to contain the Coronavirus (Covid-19).
*The cabinet then approved the hosting of a seminar organised by International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) on emerging technologies in the field of air traffic control, set to take place in the final quarter of 2020.
*The cabinet also approved a Memorandum of Understanding between GCC member-countries in the field of Waqf. *The cabinet also took the necessary measures needed to ratify a memorandum of understanding between the government of Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the United Nations Office of the Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth (OSGEY).
The cabinet then discussed the following topics and took the appropriate measures regarding them:
1- A study prepared by the Legislative Department of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers on the recommendation of the Shura Council that the punishment imposed for violation should be included with the gravity of the wrongful act.
2- The views of the Ministry of Municipality and Environmental on the Shura Council's recommendation regarding judicial seizure.
3- A draft decision from the Minister of Interior to amend some provisions of the executive regulations of the Traffic Law issued in decision No 6 for the year 2010.
