The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and Silatech, has launched ‘#Sustainyourbusiness’, an initiative that complements the efforts and precautionary measures taken by the government to prevent and limit the spread of Covid-19.
The initiative aims to support entrepreneurs and businesses so they can continue to offer their products to customers through delivery platforms Rafeeq and Snoonu. The initiative will provide “the much-needed assistance to entrepreneurs under the current circumstances, in a manner that guarantees the protection of the health and safety of all members of society.”
Bedaya Centre will support all startup projects operating under the #Sustainyourbusiness initiative by providing solutions that would help them continue productivity and the sustainability of their businesses under the current conditions.
Both Rafeeq and Snoonu will provide a dedicated section for Bedaya Centre, including all projects operating under the #Sustainyourbusiness initiative to promote, showcase, and sell their products free of charge for six months. Moreover, both the platforms will also offer ‘Bedaya Entrepreneurs’ storage areas for their products, in addition to marketing and promotional services.
To be part of the #Sustainyourbusiness initiative, Bedaya Centre has set terms and conditions for local projects that are part of it. The conditions include having a licence for home-based business or a commercial registration.
Priority will be given to emerging projects that have been operating for two years or less since their establishment. Similarly, the products must be either designed or manufactured locally and all products must fit with the initiative in terms of showcasing and packaging.
Reema al-Khater, marketing manager at Bedaya Centre, said, “In view of the current conditions and the precautionary measures taken to prevent and limit the spread of the coronavirus, we forged agreements with two of the most popular e-marketing and delivery platforms in Qatar to provide channels that benefit entrepreneurs and their emerging projects.
“This agreement will help in promoting, showcasing, and offering products online due to the suspension of activities and events that were considered sales platforms for these projects. The agreement will also provide a hassle-free opportunity for customers to shop as per their convenience and, more importantly, with safety.”
Al-Khater added: “We have embarked on a new era with the #Sustainyourbusiness initiative that will enable our entrepreneurs and ‘troubled projects’ to continue their productivity.
“We hope that this initiative will provide them a new channel to market and deliver their products across the best platforms in Qatar. Likewise, this will also be our first step to expand our activities as we begin our feasibility studies regarding new steps that will provide new marketing channels for our remaining initiatives in the future, such as the Ramadan Bazaar and Dukan Bedaya.”
