Marzooq Shamlan Al Shamlan Holding (MSSH), a leading group in Qatar’s business community, held its annual staff dinner in Doha recently.
Nearly 400 employees and other guests gathered at the MSSH annual dinner to celebrate the achievements of the company’s business over the past 70 years, driven by outstanding staff performance, a press statement noted.
‘Cultural Diversity’ was the theme of this year’s dinner, aimed at celebrating the employees’ cultural differences and promoting diversity in the workplace. The evening was, therefore, an opportunity for the staff to demonstrate their countries’ heritage through several booths representing the company’s different business units.
“Tonight is a celebration of 70 years of Marzooq Shamlan Al Shamlan Holding, professional excellence, innovative practice and leadership through vision, commitment and success,” said Marzooq Tariq al-Shamlan, newly appointed Group CEO. “Industry experience and international partnerships have been the foundation of the company’s success story. The steady growth and diversification through the years earned the company a recognition for its premium service and team’s creativity capability.
“Our success and achievements would not have been possible without the exceptional contribution of our outstanding staff, whom we regard as the group’s most valuable asset. Looking ahead, we will keep up with the market development and grasp the opportunities arising with a focus on providing comprehensive and better products and services, which serve our customers’ needs to the fullest satisfaction.”
The evening featured awards and recognition for outstanding employees who were selected among the holding’s different business units: Q-Tire and International Tire Center, International Construction Solutions, Qatar Trading Company, Karcher Center Doha and Marzooq Shamlan & Sons (Crono and Watch Corner).
In addition, special awards and certificates were presented to staff members in acknowledgement of their five and 10 years of service within the group.
“This event is mainly organised to thank our employees for their hard work in the past year as well as to welcome the year ahead,” said al-Shamlan.
Founded in the 1950s by the late Marzooq al-Shamlan, MSSH is today a leading multi-company enterprise operating in the retail, services and trading sectors, through an extensive portfolio of well-known international business partners, making it a “pioneering business in its sector in Qatar”, the statement added.
