The Qatar Charity Office has provided 2,200 food parcels to the needy families of the fishermen, in addition to 200 sponsored families within the social welfare programme from across the Gaza Strip with a total value of QR360,000 in light of the severe economic and social conditions these families live in.
All of the beneficiaries were carefully chosen, as these food baskets helped support the families of the poorest fishermen, which reflected positively on their lives due to the difficult economic conditions in the sector, Director of the Qatar Charity Office in the Gaza Strip Mohamed Abu Haloub said.
He thanked the donors from Qatar for their generous giving, for their support and assistance to the people of the Gaza Strip, noting that Qatar Charity in the Gaza Strip has adopted a method of preserving the dignity of the beneficiaries.
The beneficiary families purchased their needs of the necessary food and different cleaning materials from a list of items approved in terms of types and prices according to specific criteria, and through this method, these families were able to acquire the necessary things that they want in a way that preserves their dignity.
The beneficiaries expressed their happiness with the project and thanked the Qatar and Qatar Charity for its charitable efforts in alleviating the burdens of living of needy families.
