HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi  has praised the performance of students of 70 countries in the 16th Junior Science Olympiad in Qatar.
The minister commended the efforts of the scientific committee in developing and translating the tests which were conducted in the students’ own language.
The minister made the remarks during his visit yesterday to the Qatar National Convention Centre, where the tests are being held. Qatar is hosting this year’s edition under the slogan “Motivating today’s generation for tomorrow’s skills”.
The minister said that holding of these tests in Qatar is a matter of pride. He appreciated the role of the organising committee in providing logistical support and creating the environment and academic climate for students to take the tests and meet  their requirements.
For his part, HE Dr Ibrahim bin Saleh al-Nuaimi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for the International Junior Science Olympiad, praised  the preparation and organisation of the tests, and appreciated the careful follow-up action by the officials, especially the supervising scientific teams.
Fawzia Abdulaziz al-Khater, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Educational Affairs commended the organisation of the testing process, and said that it was going as per plans.
