The General Directorate of Passports has completed more than 1.8mn transactions in September, including services provided at the directorate’s headquarters and its affiliated departments as well as online services, according to statistics of the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The statistics showed that the transactions carried out in the departments of the General Directorate of Passports in September amounted to 1,535,153 transactions, including 70,028 through the Expatriates Affairs Department, 207,019 transactions in the Unified Services Department in its various geographical centres, and 4,664 transactions in the Border Passports Department.
The statistics showed that the Search and Follow-up Department of the General Directorate of Passports carried out 49,768 transactions. The Support Services Department for recruitment completed 75,074 transactions, while the Airport Passports Department issued 1,124,640 transactions.
The MoI statistics showed that the total number of entry and exit traffic through Hamad International Airport in September reached 1,056,027 movements, including 400,27 entry and exit through electronic gates.
The statistics of transactions of a special nature showed the completion of 991 transactions for the elderly and persons with disabilities, while the transactions of the committee for the consideration of applications for recruitment amounted to 71,717 transactions, in addition to 2,832 other transactions.
The statistics revealed an increase in e-services transactions reaching 239,761, of which 133 transactions through e-government portal and 141,404 transactions through the website of the ministry and 98,224 transactions through the mobile app “Metrash 2”.
The General Directorate of Passports is continuously working to develop and improve its services to the public through its specialised departments by the application of the best standards in addition to follow-up of various transactions to ensure the completion of public transactions with ease in record time.
