QNB Group, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, has announced its sponsorship of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2019, organised by Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani.
QNB’s sponsorship of this annual event comes as part of its “ongoing commitment towards the environment”, a statement notes.
The week-long initiative aims to promote a culture of sustainability by engaging employees and customers through a series of sustainability-oriented activities. QNB’s participation in QSW 2019 will further highlight the country’s efforts and progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the statement stressed.
QSW 2019 is expected to follow the continuing success of the initiative over the past three years, as QSW 2018 drew an attendance of more than 30,000 members of the public and representatives of key governmental and private institutions, at 220 events by 125 partners in three cities.

QNB is “always keen to contribute in supporting the environment across its international network and raise awareness among its employees in line with its diverse range of corporate social responsibility initiatives and programmes launched with the aim of aligning it with Qatar National Vision 2030, the statement adds.
