Aspetar, the orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital in Qatar, signed an agreement with the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) yesterday at Aspetar, under which the leading hospital in the fields of orthopaedic and sports medicine will provide its world-class medical services to Algerian football players. The agreement was signed by the acting Chief Executive Officer of Aspetar, Dr Abdul Aziz Jaham al-Kuwari and the president of the Algerian Football Federation, Kheireddine Zetchi, in the presence of the Algerian players Riyad Mahrez and Yacine Brahimi along with a number of representatives from both sides. 
The agreement revolves around the provision of Aspetar’s excellent services, such as sports medicine, surgery and its rehabilitation programme. In addition, FAF will benefit from Aspetar’s latest research in the fields of performance and sports, as well as other services delivered by Aspetar, the FIFA accredited hospital. 
Commenting on the agreement, al-Kuwari, said, “We are proud to continue our journey of cooperation with the Algerian Football Federation, now in its ninth year. Throughout this journey, Aspetar has accompanied the Algerian national football team during regional and international events, like 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.”
Al-Kuwari added: “Today we continue our mission to support the Republic of Algeria in achieving its football ambitions by providing the best specialized services to the Algerian national team, and we wish them the best of luck in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.”
Commenting on the agreement, the president of the Algerian Football Federation Zetchi, said; “We are delighted to be here today as we sign this agreement with Aspetar and we hope that it will be of great benefit to the two parties. We also aspire to rich knowledge exchange between us. The Algerian Federation is expected to benefit greatly from the agreement especially because Aspetar embeds experts in the sports and medicine field. I would like to thank the Qatar Football Association for everything they have provided to the national team, especially in this training camp before travelling to Egypt to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations.”
Yacine Nasr Eddine Brahimi, who plays for FC Porto and the Algeria, said, “Today is a big day for the Algerian Football Federation as we sign this agreement with Aspetar. I think it is an important step and a distinct alliance between the two parties and I hope it will last for a long period of time. The team is always preparing for major tournaments and Aspetar provides the necessary medical tests and preparation to benefit our performance during competitions.”
Riyad Mahrez, the star of the Algerian team and Premier League champions Manchester City, said; “We are delighted to sign this agreement with Aspetar and I think it will be of great benefit to the team. Aspetar has a good reputation. It is no secret the importance of sports medicine for the players due to its great role in supporting the players in any circumstances they may be exposed to. I believe that the Aspetar team has excellent services and support and to me, they are the best in the world.”
Since its establishment in 2007, Aspetar has been working to provide the highest level of service for treating sports injuries, using state-of-the-art facilities with the support of world-class medical personnel.
