Elizaveth Shakhova completed a golden double at Amir Cup Shooting and Archery Championships yesterday.
The Ukrainian, who had won a Prone gold on Friday, scored a total of 1155 with 42 hits to the bull’s eye to claim the 50m Rifle 3 Positions gold at the Losail Shooting Ranges yesterday. 
Haya Mohamed al-Boloushi defeated Matara Fahad al-Assieri for the second place with a score of 1116 (32x) and claimed the silver medal.
Al-Assieri had to be satisfied with the bronze medal as she hit 1112 (34x). These were second successive medals for both al-Boloushi and al-Assieri too.
Ahmed Zayed al-Shammari claimed the men’s 25m Rapid Fire Pistol gold medal as he shot 22 to beat Mohamad Hassan al-Tamimi, who could only get 13. Morshed al-Hassan completed the podium, hitting only eight.
“My results have been good and promising till now in the season. Also these efforts show that my preparations have been on the right track,” al-Shammari said.  
“It’s a tough sport but I feel I’ve got enough experience now. I hope I can get medals for Qatar at international meets,” al-Shammari said.
Saif Ali al-Mohannadi emerged as the champion in the men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions. He hit 1004 points with 10x to grab the title, while only a point separated Saad Ahmad al-Sulaiti from Jassim Rayed al-Boloushi in a pulsating fight for the runner-up spot.
Al-Sulaiti hit 967 with 10x to edge al-Boloushi for the silver medal. Boloushi’s 966 contained five hits to the bull’s eye.
