The consultative meeting of the Arab Group, in the Parliamentary Union of OIC member states (PUIC), started yesterday with the participation of HE the Advisory Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting precedes the 14th session of the PUIC conference, slated to continue till March 14. The consultative meeting discussed a host of topics, including the activities of the political affairs and foreign relations committee, economic and environment affairs committee, human rights committee and women and family committee in addition to the committee on cultural and legal affairs and dialogue of civilisations and religions.
The meeting also discussed, among other issues, the nomination of four members of the Arab Group for membership in the Executive Committee for 2019 and hosting the next meeting of PUIC the Executive Committee.
