The Qatar Armed Forces have concluded their participation in the Turkish joint winter land exercise, held in the Turkish city of Kars from February 8 to 21, in presence of Turkey’s Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar.
The Directorate of Defence Communication in the Ministry of Defence explained that this is the first time the Qatar Armed Forces are taking part in these winter exercises. The exercise witnessed the participation of 15 countries including Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and Pakistan. 
The Qatar Armed Forces’ land forces, air force, joint special forces, and signal corps participated in the drills.
The exercise included fighting in built-up areas, commando landing in snowy areas, sniper shooting, and logistical support by landing from C17 and C130 aircraft of the Qatar Amiri Air Force.
HE Major General (Pilot) Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Malki, Assistant of the Commander of the Amiri Air Force, a number of senior officers in the Qatar Armed Forces and officers and military officials from participating countries attended the conclusion of the exercise. - QNA
