The ninth Muscat International Jewellery Exhibition (Mijex), organised by Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) in partnership with Vega Intertrade & Exhibition, was opened on Tuesday.
The opening ceremony was graced by Sheikha Aisha al-Sayabiya, president of the Public Authority for Craft Industries.
The event runs until December 15 in Hall 5 at Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre.
This year’s show exhibitors are showcasing an assortment of jewellery materials, including exquisite diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones as well as pearls, to both local and international buyers, the organisers have said in a statement.
The premier trade fair is witnessing the participation of companies from around the world, including Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, India, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and others.
Mijex features a broad spectrum of finished jewellery products, including “exceptional jewellery collections, premier brands, antique jewellery and new designer brands”, the statement added.
In addition, two winners will have a chance to win a diamond watch from Salem Al Shueibi Jewellery in a draw that will be conducted on the last day of the fair. The organisers have said they expect more than 10,000 visitors during the event, which is being held on an area of 4,000sqm at the convention centre.
The exhibition is open to all companies and the public.
