The General Authority of Customs (GAC) has concluded a five-day regional workshop on the technology and analysis of customs statements and their processing. The exercise was conducted in co-operation with the World Customs Organisation’s Regional Office for Capacity Building Co-ordination. The workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge and understanding of information analysis techniques, in addition to discussing the available analysis technologies that help in improving the related customs operations, such as risk management, customs security, customs evasion attempts, commercial fraud and other similar topics. Around 50 GAC employees directly dealing with the topic in their work took part in the workshop.
