The ninth Muscat International Jewellery Exhibition (Mijex) will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 11 to 15, it has been announced.
Jointly organised by Oman International Exhibition Centre and Vega Intertrade and Exhibition, the event is held once a year as one of the “top international jewellery exhibitions”, the organisers have said in a statement.
The premier trade fair will attract companies from across the world, including Oman, Qatar, Lebanon, India, Italy, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and others.
Mijex 2018 will feature a “wide range of precious and authentic gemstones, spectacular pearls, attractive gold ornaments and fabulous diamonds”, the statement notes. It will also “fuel the jewellery exports of Muscat in addition to reflecting to the whole world the extraordinary dynamism and energy of the Muscat jewellery sector”.
Further, jewellery machinery, materials, tools, equipment and accessories will be showcased at the exhibition from a wide range of manufacturers and distributors from within the region and beyond.
For the last eight consecutive years, Mijex has been well-received by both traders and buyers as the exhibition features a wide range of masterpiece jewellery from various leading brands and newcomers from many countries, according to the organisers. “Likewise, the ninth Mijex, which is open to both companies and the public, is the perfect destination for buyers to seek the most beautiful jewellery and for sellers to boost business as the event serves as an ideal platform for brands and potential buyers to meet under one roof,” the statement adds.
The organisers expect some 25,000 visitors during the five days of the event, which will be held over an area of 4,000sqm at the convention centre.
The exhibition will be open from 12noon to 10pm on December 11, 12, 13 and 15, and from 4pm to 11pm on December
