Algerian Minister of Commerce Said Djellab visited LuLu Hypermarket – Al Messila on Tuesday along with a large delegation that included Tayeb Zeitouni, general director of the Algerian Fairs and Exportation Company; Wahiba Bahloul, general director of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Nasr Eddine Larabeh, first secretary of the Algerian embassy in Qatar; and Algerian businessmen.
A number of senior officials from LuLu Group, including Shanavas, regional manager; Mohamed Basheer, general manager – Hypermarket Operations; and David Stuart Bache, Retail Operations manager, were present at the reception held in honour of the Algerian minister and the accompanying delegation.
LuLu Group organised the reception at the entrance of the hypermarket. The minister toured the entire hypermarket complex and listened to a detailed explanation of the products, especially those imported from Algeria. On behalf of Mohamed Althaf, director of LuLu International Group in Qatar, Shanavas presented a memento to Djellab in honour of his visit to LuLu – stressing the co-operation between LuLu Group and Algerian businessmen.
LuLu Group has been importing agricultural produce from Algeria for many years, including various types of olives, it said in a statement. Algeria is known for its high-quality olives and has a rich history and tradition in the cultivation of olive trees.  Quality indices state that the Algerian raw olives and its oil products are of outstanding quality that meet international standards.
LuLu Group has been importing food products from all over the world for years and has a comprehensive network of export distribution centres in 24 countries, including major facilities opened recently in the UK, US and Spain, to cater to the requirements of customers across all LuLu stores, the statement added.
