Barwa Bank has announced the names of the most recent round of draw winners this August for Thara’a, its Shariah-compliant savings account, which was held at the bank’s headquarters.
Khaola Saad al-Tairey and Bashaer Ameer al-Mulla each won a cash prize of QR10,000.
Also, a cash prize worth QR5,000 was awarded to Noora Mohamed al-Baker, Hamad Aqeel al-Shammari, Babiker Ali, Iqbal Ahmed Abdul Bari, Hessa Ibrahim al-Hammadi, Khulood Esmaeil Mahmoudi, Hamad Ali al-Marri, Aida Maath Abid, Abdulqawi Awad al-Yafei, Adel Alawi al-Sanabani, Ali al-Kubaisi, Fatma Aly, Jamal Mohamed al-Baker, Abdelaziz Soltan, Turki Mansour al-Qahtani, Mohamad Nawar Khabbaz, Mohamed Hassan al-Kuwari, Khalid Aziz al-Ghanim, Saeed Salem al-Khelaifi, Mohamed Saleh al-Muhannadi, and Tawadow el-Sadeg.
The draw was conducted under the supervision of a representative of the qualitative license and market control department at the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
Thara’a offers account holders have the chance to benefit from cash rewards up to QR1mn, a first for Islamic banks in Qatar.
Based on several criteria, Thara’a account holders are eligible for a number of periodic draws for cash prizes.
Totalling QR3.3mn, Thara’a cash rewards are distributed on both a monthly and biannual basis to customers holding a minimum balance of QR10,000.
On a monthly basis, there are 21 winners per draw for the cash prize of QR5,000 each, as well as two winners per draw for QR10,000.
Additionally, twice-a-year, there are two winners per draw for the cash prize of QR25,000 each, two winners per draw for QR50,000 each, and yearly, there are two winners of the grand prize of QR1mn for each winner, rewarding 194 winners in total with cash prizes up to QR3.3mn.
