A day after the temperature touched 48C in Doha and some other places, scorching conditions are again expected in parts of the country today along strong winds and poor visibility due to dust during the daytime.
The Qatar Met department has also issued a marine warning for strong winds and high seas today.
The wind speed (northwesterly) may go up to 30 knots in some inshore areas at times, and 22 knots offshore, with the sea level rising to 7ft.
Besides a hot day, the detailed forecast says slight to blowing dust is expected in some places, with visibility dropping to 2km or less at times. Offshore, slightly dusty conditions are likely along with some clouds.
The maximum temperature is expected to be 48C today in Wakrah and Mesaieed, followed by 47C in Doha and 44C in Al Khor.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was 48C in Doha, Abu Hamour and Wakrah, 47C in the Qatar University area and Turayna, 46C in Sheehaniya, Al Khor, Mesaieed, Batna and Ghuwairiyah, 45C in Karana and Jumayliyah, and 44C in the Hamad International Airport area.
