Qatar has participated in a "Resolute Support" meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (Nato) summit, which was held in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
Qatar's delegation to the meeting was led by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Qatar to the Kingdom of Belgium, and head of its missions to the European Union and Nato, Abdulrahman bin Mohamed al-Khulaifi, Qatari Military Attache Brigadier General Abdul Hadi bin Mubarak al-Hajri, and a number of senior officers of the Qatari Armed Forces.
Resolute Support is a Nato-led, non-combat mission to train, advise and assist the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF).
It was launched on January 1, 2015, following the conclusion of the previous Nato-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) mission, and the assumption of full security responsibility by the ANDSF.
