The temperature is expected to increase in the coming two days and exceed the mid-40C levels in Doha and most parts of the country, the Met Department said yesterday, advising people to avoid direct exposure to sunlight.

The maximum temperature is likely to be 47C in Wakrah and Mesaieed today, followed by 46C in Doha and 45C in Al Khor. Besides a hot daytime, the detailed forecast says strong winds are expected in most areas today along with slight to blowing dust and poor visibility in some places. The weather office has also issued a marine warning for windy conditions and high seas.
The wind speed my go up to 32 knots inshore and 25 knots offshore at times, with visibility dropping to 2km or less in some places and the sea level rising to 7ft.
