Doha Advanced Toastmasters Club (DATM), the first and largest advanced club in Qatar, recently celebrated its 100th meeting at Indian Centre, stated a press release.
Chartered in 2008, DATM provides a unique platform for senior toastmasters to hone their advanced public speaking skill. The club currently has 30 members, from varying professional backgrounds, holding key positions in leading organisations in Qatar.
The guest of honour at the event was Sonny Varghese, Adviser of DTM Past Region 11 and a charter member DATM. He addressed the audience with a message of successful leadership and lasting legacy. Rajeswar Sundaresan, charter President of DTM and Director Toastmasters District 116P, spoke on the occasion highlighting the 10-year-long journey of DATM. Other charter members present at the event, were namely, Manzoor Moideen and Vinod Pisharom.
Surya Narayanan K, DATC President, presented the annual performance report at the event, mentioning the achievements of the club. Rangamani Ravi, Area 27 Director and DATC Sergeant-at-Arms, installed a new executive committee of the club with Anita Samanta as the president. Anita Samanta is a veteran toastmaster with 14 years of experience. In her acceptance speech, she outlined her vision for the coming year.
Muthurangan and Niloufer Samal also spoke on the occasion regarding their pathway projects, evaluated by Raveendra Rao and Christopher Almeida. Table topics session was conducted by Filomeno Alves. The event was concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony.
