Six live concerts will take centre stage at the Qatar Fan Zone at Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena to entertain football fans and families watching the live preview of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. The series of performances, organised by Social Studios, kicked off on Monday with Moroccan singer Hatim Ammor enthralling the crowd before the match between Morocco and Spain.
The concerts will also bring some of the most loved music stars from across the Middle East, including North Africa’s world-renowned Cheb Khlaed, who will perform tomorrow (June 28). All concerts are scheduled to start at 7.30pm.
According to organisers, the performances add to the cultural offering at the fan zone, held between the evening match screenings of the tournament. During the quarter finals of the World Cup, the music concerts will feature Iraqi singer Mohamed al-Fares and Lebanese artist Ziad Bourji on July 6 and 7.
In the following and final week of the month-long tournament, Kuwaiti star academy sensation Essa Almarzoug is set to take the stage on July 10, followed by his compatriot star Ibrahim Dashti the next day, July 11. Qatar Fan Zone, organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Ministry of Culture and Sports and Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), is a highlight of this year’s Qatar Summer Festival 2018.
Organised by QTA, the 11-week festival is a nationwide celebration of the country’s diverse retail and hospitality offerings, complemented by a host of entertainment and sports activities. The fan zone is open daily from 2pm until midnight of June 28, and will be open from 4pm until midnight between June 30 and July 15.
Operating on match days only, it is powered by Vodafone Qatar as the official telecommunications partner and supported by The W Doha Hotel & Residences, the official hospitality partner.
