A football tournament was recently organised by Tracks Youth Group (TYG), a group of Nepali expatriates, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr at Labour Football Stadium, Al Khor. The four-day-long tournament saw the participation of 40 teams.
The final match was played between BPF and CFC1. BPF won the tournament. The winner and runner-up teams were awarded cash prizes, medals, shields and certificates. Suman Ghale from TYG team was declared the top scorer of the tournament. Chitra Magar was given the best goal keeper award. Sanu Subba was also awarded as the man of the tournament. The best referee award went to Jery Rai.
Prominent guests on the occasion were namely, Tharcha Lama from Sandhya Films, Sanjeev Waiba from Nepali Football Team, Birendra Kumar Yakthumba from Sandhya Group, Ganesh Adhikari from Sagun Production and Netra Tamang from Tamang Society.
