HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi issued a ministerial decision yesterday forming the board of trustees of the Nursing Sciences School under the chairmanship of Sheikh Dr Khalid bin Jabr al-Thani to lead and supervise the school in order to achieve the public interest.
According to the decision, the board of trustees, which serves a three-year term, chooses a vice chairman from its members and names a school staff as secretary. In addition, HE the Minister issued a ministerial decision licensing the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center in Qatar to offer a master’s degree programme in law (LLM), with the license running for four renewable years according to the licensing and accreditation standards of the country’s higher education institutions.
The decision stipulates that the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center shall offer the programme in co-operation with University of Sussex. It also stipulates that the agreement with the university cannot be cancelled and the programme cannot be suspended without the approval of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. – QNA

Bill on non-Qatari property ownership discussed


The Advisory Council’s Legal and Legislative Affairs Committee held yesterday a meeting as part of the council’s 46th regular session under the chairmanship of its rapporteur Nasser bin Rashid Saria al-Kaabi. During the meeting, the committee discussed a draft law on the regulation of non-Qataris’ ownership of properties and benefiting from them.
HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi, attended the meeting along with HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi.
The two ministers explained the government’s viewpoint on the aforementioned bill and answered the queries of the committee members. The committee decided to continue to review the draft law in its next meeting. – QNA
