HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met Cengiz Ozgencil, president and founder of the International Co-operation Platform (ICP), the entity organising the Bosphorus Summit.
During the meeting, they discussed economic, trade and investment topics of common interest.
Bosphorus Summit is an important platform that brings together politicians, businessmen and initiators from different parts of the Middle East and the world.
It aims to discuss views on experiences of implementing different projects and explores the future of international relations and regional co-operation.
The summit also brings together politicians and economic sector representatives, highlights important issues and contributes to the promotion and success of trade co-operation between countries at a regional and global level.
The 8th Bosphorus Summit was held in Istanbul between Nov 28 and 30, 2017 and was inaugurated by President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The summit addressed the challenges of modern globalisation for a bright future and was attended by nearly 5,000 people from 90 countries, representing different sectors.
Qatar and Turkey have strong economic and trade relations, positively reflecting on the trade volume.
A number of trade agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed, including an economic and technical co-operation agreement, encouragement and mutual protection of investments agreement, and a memorandum of understanding on facilitating transport and transit to strengthen economic, commercial and investment co-operation between Qatar, Iran and Turkey.
