HE the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh Mohamed Salem al-Nabit, the Chairman of the Permanent Population Committee (PPC), on Saturday launched the new website of the Permanent Population Committee.
The launch of the website comes as part of the transformation and modernisation projects carried out by the PPC.
The website aims at achieving community partnership, as well as updating and developing media dissemination mechanisms that contribute to enhancing the society's knowledge about the population policy of the state and engagement in the joint work system and activities of the PPC to achieve the goals and objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030.
The website seeks to attract and invite different sections of society to view the mission of the committee and the principles and objectives of population policy, as well as provide information about important events, news, bulletins, reports, programmes and future projects.
It also seeks to publish data on the progress made in the implementation of the population policy, and to provide observers with access to the objectives of the population policy and its connection to the National Development Strategy 2018-2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030.
The minister stressed that updating and developing the new website would contribute to the provision of information and publishing the reports related to population policy in the country, pointing out that this move will benefit decision makers in ministries, government institutions, business sector, universities, research centres and civil society organisations as part of the unified quest for sustainable population development.
