HE the Minister Municipality and Environment Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi met on Tuesday with Australia’s Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources David Littleproud. During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing co-operation between Qatar and Australia in the fields of trade and the export of live and chilled meat products as well as agricultural items in addition to Qatari investments in the field. The two sides held a session of official talks, followed by an Iftar at a restaurant in Doha. HE al-Rumaihi appreciated the outcome of bilateral talks and strategic co-operation between the two countries in terms of the exchange of trade and experience. He also reviewed the country’s plans for sustainable development and food security, which are in line with the self-reliance policy and Qatar National Vision 2030. He stressed that Qatar, under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, has managed to overcome all the hurdles and made great achievements in the field of agriculture. This includes providing support for local investments in agricultural production and developing bilateral relations between Qatar and countries around the world based on mutual respect, and benefiting from expertise and experiences in different fields.
