Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), through its representative mission in Afghanistan, has concluded a project to provide clean drinking water in south and southeastern Afghanistan, with a total budget of $400,000 (QR 1.46mn) for more than 1,200 poor families, which amounts to 9,000 beneficiaries. 
In a statement, QRCS said the project aims to improve the health condition of residents of remote and disadvantaged areas, reduce the spread of diseases and epidemics resulting from the use of polluted or unclean water by providing long-term drinking water, achieve food security, provide agricultural employment and revive the economic standard of the population by providing water for land irrigation.
