Metabo defeated Lovely Littles by 84 runs in the inaugural match of the 24th Gulf Incon – Metabo Floodlit Cricket Tournament at the Old Ideal Indian School Floodlit Grounds.
Opting to bat first, Metabo made 155 runs for the loss of two wickets after the match was reduced to 10 overs because of rain.
Jaber, who was adjudged the man-of the-match, made 33 runs from eight balls with four sixes and two fours while Bobav scored 34 from eight balls with four sixes and two fours. Hassan made 21 in 12 balls.
In reply, Lovely Littles managed only 71 runs as Shamish and Rajesh scored 19 and 14 runs respectively. For Metabo, Asif and Arsalan took three wickets each and Shabbir chipped in with two.
In the other match, Serandib B defeated Ceylon Warriors by three wickets.
Earlier, Metabo Senior Sales and Marketing Manager Sajjad Ahmed Khan inaugurated the tournament in the presence of Qatar Veterans Cricket officials, players and match officials.
