HE Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met yesterday with Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Ahmed Hussen and his accompanying delegation. They reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed aspects of co-operation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields. They also discussed how to advance relations further. The total number of Canadian companies
operating in Qatar is 265. Of those, a total of 12 are wholly-owned Canadian entities. The
remaining 253 are joint ventures between Canadian and Qatari investors. Those companies
operate in many different sectors such as construction, consultancy, real estate development, oil and gas services, healthcare, and education among others.
