Danat Education has announced the launch of Doha’s premier new school, The Hamilton International School (THIS), operated by International Schools Partnership (ISP).
Danat Education is a leading school development company in Qatar, while ISP is the fourth largest school group in the world.
THIS will “set a new standard in educational facilities in Qatar, boosting the country’s educational offering and delivering a key part of Qatar National Vision 2030”, according to a press statement. The Hamilton International School will be the first of a number of schools delivered across the country by Danat Education, the education arm of Danat Qatar, one of Qatar’s leading premium real estate developers owned by Ali Hussain Alfardan.
The new IB and American Diploma-based school is due to open in September 2019.
“Offering an unrivalled educational provision, the site boasts of a host of state-of-the-art classrooms as well as cutting-edge science, sporting and performing arts facilities,” the statement noted.
For five years, Danat Education has worked with its exclusive education partner, Saracen Education, to “plan and design the next step in educational facilities”.
As Qatar’s leading education consultant, Saracen Education has drawn on decades of experience to design this school, using specialist knowledge from operating and consulting on schools globally.
Saracen has delivered a “complete education solution in line with both Danat and ISP’s requirements”. Learning will be at the core of everything the school does.
Students will learn to levels that amaze them, so that they are inspired to be successful both during their time at the school and later in life. The sports centre and performing arts facilities at THIS will deliver a wide and broad education, ensuring that students are well-rounded and purposeful global citizens.
The 50,000sqm site will have a Broadway-standard theatre, with an orchestra pit and tiered seating for nearly 1,000 children – a “first for any school in Doha” — as well as a second auditorium for teaching theatre studies.
Danat Education has also designed a sports centre that will “change the face of sporting provision and after-school activities in Doha”. A FIFA-standard and size football pitch, running track and two full-size basketball courts make up the outdoor sports area. Indoor facilities include two swimming pools, two tennis courts, a full-sized basketball/multi-purpose hall and a suite of fitness rooms and multi-activity spaces, including a dance studio.
As owners of six schools in the region, including the prestigious Park House English School in Doha, ISP is well placed to help guide The Hamilton International School successfully into the future, the statement added.
The expected opening date of Hamilton International School is September 2019.
