HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani met here yesterday the chairman of Greece-Qatar Business Council Panagiotis Mihalos and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting discussed joint co-operation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, and means of enhancing and developing them.
During the meeting, the two sides also reviewed bilateral relations and investment opportunities in Greece. 
Among the other topics discussed were the developments in the Qatari economy during the past years, investment opportunities available in various sectors, initiatives launched by Qatar to support the private sector and its role in enhancing private sector’s contribution to the country’s overall economic development, as well as attracting foreign investment.
The Greece-Qatar Business Council was established in 2015 with the aim of expanding trade and investment relations between Qatar and Greece. 
The council is dedicated to establishing new business partnerships for its members and serves as a platform for dialogue between business leaders and decision-makers in government agencies and those concerned with the promotion of bilateral relations. Qatar and Greece have close economic and trade relationship, which reflected positively on the bilateral trade, which in 2017 amounted to about QR372mn.
