*His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani opened new training facility buildings in the Amiri Guard camp in Lehsaynia

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Thursday attended the graduation ceremony of 212 conscripts, who form the 10th batch National Service recruits, held at the Amiri Guard Camp.
On the occasion, the Amir honoured National Service recruit Eid Tarif Naji al-Nomasi, who ranked first in the military infantry branch; Abdulaziz Ali Mohamed al-Obaidli, who won the first place in rifle and pistol shooting; and Abdullah Yousef Ashar, who topped in the fitness category. 
During the ceremony, the Amir witnessed a parade staged by the conscripts and exercises demonstrating riot control and security measures.

A number of senior military officials attended the ceremony along with commanders of the armed forces and the Ministry of Interior, officers and non-commissioned officers.
Later, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani opened the new training facility buildings in the Amiri Guard camp in the Lehsaynia area.
Giving a speech on the occasion, Major Abdullah Jarallah al-Marri, the acting commander of the Amiri Guard School, traced the history of the Amiri Guard since its formation in 1953 as the Ruler's Guard Force, then His Highness the Amir's Guard Battalion and as His Highness the Heir Apparent's Guard Battalion and later as a separate entity under the name of Amiri Guard in 2007.
Major al-Marri said that the opening of the training facility will help in enhancing the performance of Amiri Guard in carrying out its duties in terms of providing security and training expertise that is needed to continue to co-ordinate with the different security apparatuses.
The opening featured a screening of a film about the military village and its buildings and various military facilities, in addition to military parades and demonstration of fighting and defence skills.
The Amir listened to a detailed explanation by a number of senior Amiri Guard officials on the modern facilities and equipment in the new building that go in line with the comprehensive renaissance in the country.
After that, the Amir toured the buildings and visited the live shooting ranges.
