In recognition of its “market leading” remittance services, Commercial Bank was awarded “The Best Remittance Service for the Middle East” at The Asian Banker’s Excellence Services Awards 2018.
The Asian Banker’s Retail Financial Services programme is one of the most rigorous and transparent awards programmes that recognises the outstanding companies and initiatives in the consumer financial services industry, evaluating more than 300 banks and non-bank retail financial services players in some 42 countries.
Commercial Bank was the first bank in Qatar to introduce “60 seconds” online remittances to bank accounts in India last year, and the initiative has since been extended to the Philippines and Sir Lanka, catering to Qatar’s large expatriate populations.
Commercial Bank’s “60 seconds” remittance service is available to 30 banks in India, 27 banks in Sri Lanka and Banco De Oro (BDO) accounts in the Philippines.
Using Commercial Bank’s “simple, secure and convenient” Mobile Banking App and Internet Banking services, customers have the ability to transfer money to these destinations in less than 60 seconds with market-leading exchange rates and competitively priced fees.
Commercial Bank Group CEO Joseph Abraham said, “Commercial Bank leads digital banking in Qatar and we have invested in our Internet and Mobile Banking platforms to create a world class remittance service that is easy to use, secure and available 24 hours, seven days a week.”
Commercial Bank executive general manager and head (Retail and Consumer Banking) Amit Sah said, “The Asian Banker award for ‘Best remittance service in the Middle East’ recognises how fast, convenient and competitive our money transfer service is. Thousands of our customers of multiple nationalities are switching to this service every month and when used on our Mobile Banking App, the voice recognition and favourites option, means you prepare the instruction as quickly as we send it.”
To start making a transfer, customers have to simply log-in to Internet banking or download Commercial Bank’s Mobile Banking App from their app store.
