A high-level delegation from Qatar Petroleum (QP) discussed ways to strengthen and expand energy cooperation with Poland

The President and CEO of QP Engineer Saad Sherida al-Kaabi met with Polish Energy Minister Krzysztof Tchorzewski. The two sides discussed cooperation in the field of energy and means of enhancing them in the future, especially in the field of LNG sector.

The meeting was attended by the State Under-secretary at the Polish Ministry of Energy, the director of Oil and Gas Department as well as other senior officials.

Al-Kaabi said he Polish officials have expressed interest in developing strong relations of cooperation and partnership with QP. He said ‘there is no doubt that our discussions have strengthened the foundations of our existing cooperation, and have built another layer of trust and confidence in Qatar's world-class reputation as a safe and reliable LNG provider.’

Earlier, al-Kaabi met with the CEO of Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwom S.A. (PGNiG), Piotr Wozniak. The meeting focused on means to enhance and expand existing cooperation with Qatargas, the world's premier liquefied natural gas company.

In March of 2017, Qatargas signed an agreement to deliver an additional one million tonnes per annum of LNG to PGNiG, raising the total LNG quantities to be supplied to PGNiG to two million tonnes per year.

The agreement came into effect on January 1 this year and is valid until 2034.

The additional LNG quantities are supplied from 'Qatargas-3' on board Q-Flex LNG vessels to the President Lech Kaczynski LNG Terminal in Swinoujscie, Poland.
